EVERETT E. HONTS

Funeral services for Everett E. Honts, 54, of 1812 Hershey Ave., Muscatine, are pending at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home awaiting word from a son in Germany.

Mr. Honts died at 12:30 pm Tuesday at Muscatine General Hospital of complications subsequent to an auto accident a short time ago.

Visitation will begin Thursday morning.

A son of Frank E. and Catherine A. Rigel Honts, he was born May 14, 1915 at Muscatine where he was a life resident.

He married Norma Kell July 1, 1967 at Peoria, Ill. Mr Honts was owner and operator of the Friendly Tavern.

Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Norma Honts; three sons, Michael with the U.S. Army stationed in Germany; John of Carthage, Mo. and David of Muscatine; three daughters, Mrs. Bob (Carol) Miller and Mrs. Kenneth (Linda) Fry both of Muscatine and Mrs. Susan Ogle of Carthage, Mo. his mother, Mrs. Catherine Honts, Muscatine; four step-sons, Donald H. Schmelzer, Eldridge, Gerald L. Schmelzer, Dennis Schreurs and Kevin Silberhorn, all of Muscatine; three step-daughters, Mrs. Richard (Carol) Anderson, East Moline, Mrs. Ron (Sharon) Swailes, Muscatine and Mrs. Donald (Deborah) Lamb, Winton, Calif.; one brother, J. Francis Honts and one sister, Mrs. Edna Greene, both of Muscatine; also 21 grandchildren.

He was prededed in death by his father, two sisters and two step-sons.
