Mrs. Eliza Irwin Dead

Mrs. Eliza Irwin, for many years a resident here, died at the General Hospital yesterday morning, Feb. 25, from dropsy following illness of a month. The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Holiness Church south of the Armory, and the sermon will be by Rev. J. R. Meloy, of the United Evangelical Church.

The church choir will sing and burial will be in Red Oak Cemetery.

Mrs. Irwin was born July 17, 1837, in Athens, Ohio, and was married in that state to Henry Irwin Oct. 17, 1860. They came to this county in 1879, locating in Garfield Township, and later moved to Griffithsville where Mr. Irwin died March 19, 1898. Since that time she had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Alva Walters, who had given her every possible comfort in accordance with a promise made to Mr. Irwin on his death bed.

Mrs. Irwin was a member of the Holiness Church and was a good woman. She leaves many friends whose hearts are saddened by her death. ~ The Red Oak Sun, Red Oak, Iowa Fri Feb 26, 1915.
