Funeral services for Mildred M. Vannordstrand, 91, Marshalltown, wwere Monday, Fed. 15, at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in Marshalltown with Rev. Bobby Shomo, Iowa River Hospice Chaplain officiating. Burial will be at the Waveland Township Cemetery in Elliott with graveside services at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16. Mrs. Vannordstrand died Thursday, ( Feb. 11, 1999) at the Southridge Nursing and Rehab Center in Marshalltown.

She was born Feb. 13, 1907, at Pulaski, IA. to Jerimiah and Magdalena Wagler Miller. She was raised and educated in Pulaski and graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in home economics. She was married to vertice M. Vannordstrand June 28, 1936, at Pulaski on the family farm and had taught home economics in various wchools all throughout Iowa. In 1962, she became employed by the Iowa Veterans Home as a seamstress until her retirement in 1985.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Vertice Vannordstrand in 1955, and one brother.

Survivors include a son, John ( Joan ) Vannordstrand of Marshalltown, three daughters, Mrs. Bobby ( Mary ) Back of Sutherland, IA., Mrs. tony ( Vaneta ) Kullmer of Crandall, TX., and nancy Vannordstrand of Marshalltown, brother, Mahlon Miller of Sterling, IL., sister, Sophronia Jensen of Brookfield, IL., 10 grandchildren, 17 great grand children.
