Funeral services for Evelyn Marie Hall, 74, Red Oak, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home with Rev. Gordon Watson officiating. Burial will be in the Monroe Township Cemetery at Imogene. Mrs. Hall died Sunday ( Jan. 24, 1999 ) at Myrtue Memorial Hospital in Harlan after a brief illness.

She was born Sept. 1, 1924 in Fremont County to Everett and Leah ( Perkins ) Nicholas. She was raised in the Imogene area and graduated from Strahan High School in 1941. She was united in marriage to Charles J. Hall, sept. 28, 1942 in Rockport, MO. They lived in Imogene and Malvern before moving to the Red Oak community in 1967. She had been a member of the Hawthorne United Methodist Church or rural Red Oak. She became a resident of the Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn in 1992.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Hall, May 29, 1983, an infant son, a brother, Tom Nicholas, and a sister, Gladys Harris.

Survivors include six daughters and their husbands, Kathleen and Glen Benefiel of Hamburg, Carol and Harold Hascall of Atlantic, Karon and Jerry Millikan of Red Oak, Connie and Dan Collins of Atlantic, Kay and Tom Godwin of Yale , Christi and John Govig of Red Oak, 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren, a sister, Hazel Wax of Shenandoah, a brother Jim Nicholas of Princeton, TX. , many nieces, nephews and other relatives along with a host of friends.
