Funeral services for Nancy Jo Shoemaker, 54, Elliott were Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Duhn Funeral Home in griswold with Pastor Craig Larson of the Red Oak Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Township Cemetery in Griswold. Mrs. Shoemaker died Wednesday ( Jan. 13, 1999) at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak.

She was born March 20, 1944, in Oakland to Eldon Norris and Wilma Isabelle ( Christo ) Hackett. They moved to a farm west of Griswold when she was young and then to Elliott when she was 15 years old. She graduated from Griswold High School in 1962. She married Terry Altschaffl in Omaha and later on Dec. 23, 1981, was married to Charles Shoemaker at Red Oak. She was employed at the Eveready Battery Plant in Red Oak for 20 years and most recently was employed in the housekeeping department at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Shoemaker of Elliott, daughter, laurie Langenfield and her husband, Dale, one son, Mark Altschaffl and his special friend, Tami Davis, all of Elliott, sister, Sharon Armstrong of Bellevue, NE.
