Funeral services for Clara M. Crisp, 86, Lenox, formerly of Corning will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Brooks United Methodist Church with Rev. John Keizer officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Corning. Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Corning is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the Brooks United Methodist Church. Mrs. Crisp died Saturday ( Jan. 23, 1999) at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston.

She was born Nov. 2, 1912, in Elliott to Fred Charles Thomas and Mertie Albina Califf. She graduated from Elliott High Schooln 1929 and attended business school in Omaha for two years. She married Harold "Bill" Crisp, Dec. 9, 1931, in Maryville, MO. She was a homemaker and a member of the Brooks United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday schools for several years. She was also a member of the Ladies Aide at Brooks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold "Bill" Crisp in 1984, four brothers, Ray, John, Robert, and Guy Thomas, and a sister, Eva McKinney.

Survivors include a son, Fred Crisp and his wife, Pam of Bozeman, MT, daughter, Dixie Stalder and her husband, Leo, of Corning , sisters-in-law, Annie Thomas, Laura Thomas and Lou Thomas, all of Iowa City.
