Cora Jane Copeland was born July 13, 1883 in Montgomery Co., Iowa. She was married to A. C. Weidman Oct. 5, 1899. To this union six children were born. Following the death of her husband, August 31, 1935, she came to Oregon and made her home in Jefferson with her daughter Mrs. Jake Meng.

She became ill in May, 1938 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Marra at Sweet Home and her death occurred February 15 at the Lebanon hospital.

Surviving are six children; Harold Weidman, Wahoo, NE; Mrs. August Marra, Castlegate, UT; Mrs. Charles Marra, Sweet Home; Duanne Weidman of Jefferson; and Bette Weidman of Sweet Home. Two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Wilson and Mrs. Myrtle Westover and a brother, Ed Copeland, all of Iowa.

Funeral services were held at the Christian Church in Jefferson Sunday at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Campbell of Jefferson. Interment was made in the Jefferson Cemetery.
