Eggert, John Wesley -
John Wesley Eggert, the son of Raymond and Glenna (Frame) Eggert was born June 11, 1949 in Lincoln, Neb. He died suddenly from injuries sustained in an accident in Red Oak, Iowa on June 27, 2001, at the age of 52 years and 16 days.

John was raised in Clearfield and attended Clearfield High School. He was baptized and confirmed in the Clearfield United Methodist Church.

He entered the United States Air Force on Feb. 14, 1968 and served in Vietnam, being discharged on Sept. 12, 1971.

He moved to Red Oak in 1971 and started to work for Rogers Plumbing and Heating, where he worked for 22 years.

He was united in marriage to Juanita Johnson on July 22, 1978. To this union was born two sons, Michael and Andy.

John went to work for the City of Red Oak in the Street Department in 1993. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge #2715, which he was currently serving as president. He was also a member of the Montgomery County Court of Honor and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. in Creston.

John was preceded in death by his father and a son Michael on June 30, 1993.

John is survived by his son, Andy Eggert and his fiance, Heather Moore of Red Oak; his mother, Glenna Eggert of Clearfield; a brother, Bill Eggert of Red Oak, and other relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral services were held Saturday, June 30, at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Red Oak.

Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, The Rev. Frank Schultz officiated at the service. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
