Miller, George T -
George T. Miller, son of Arrene Levis and Geary Miller, died at the Clearfield nursing home July 26 after several years of failing health.
He was born July 29, l899 at Red Oak, Iowa, and at the time of his death was 73 years, 11 months and 28 days of age.
Mr. Miller grew to manhood in the Red Oak vicinity and on April 28, 1925 at Elliott, Ia. was united in marriage to Bessie R. Smith. To this union were born two children, Josephine
Elaine and Benne Clinton.
He was engaged in farming all of his life and lived in the vicinity of Pilot Grove until 1951 when he moved to Lenox where he continued farming until his death.
He was baptized at an early age at Pilot Grove and never lost his love for this church. He was an N.F.O. member and a member of the Lenox United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Harry.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Bessie, daughter Josephine and husband Edwin Schomburg of Villisca, son Benne and wife Gerda of Lenox, 4 grandchildren, Jimmy and Marjory Schomburg and Marvin and Shirley Miller, one brother, William G. Miller and, wife Esther of Hudson, Iowa and one sister Pauline Miller of Grundy Center, Iowa, other relatives and friends.
He always thought first of his family and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 29th at 10:30 a.m. from the Pilot Grove Methodist Church, Pilot Grove Township with Rev. Floyd Newbrough and Rev. David R. Wendel officiating.
Music was furnished by Lynn Adams, soloist and Mrs. Merlin Vetter pianist.
Honorary bearers were E. G. Pogue, Homer Walter, George DeWitt, Daniel Finley, Claude Morris, Russell Lindell, Deemer Houghton, Albert L. Swanson and Emory D Showalter.
Casket bearers were Wayne Finking, Richard Riley, Howard Stoaks, Daryl Showalter, Lavaugn Howard, LaRell Wilkinson.
Those in charge of the flowers were Mrs Homer Walter and Mrs Oscar Lofgren.
Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery in Red Oak.
