Bivens, Arthur Grant -
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 28, 1972 from the Sutphen Funeral Home at Villisca for Arthur G. Bivens. The Rev, Eldon Haworth officiated.
Pallbearers were Ralph Peterson, Robert Gourley, Roy Smith, Birge Geer, Grover Warnaca and Gary Refer.
Flower bearers were Mr. Roy Smith and Mrs. Martina Shrimpton.
Interment and concluding services were at the Villisca, Ia. cemetery.
Arthur Grant Bivens was born in Adams County, Iowa, on May 29, 1901, the son of Sidney G. Bivens and Della Watson Bivens.
He died at Murphy Memorial hospital in Red Oak on October 26, 1972.
Art farmed most of his early life, then worked in a coal mine for a time, and for 22 years worked for the Burlington Railroad, retiring several years ago.
He was united1 in marriage to Eva Ann Cayer on February 28, 1940.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Surviving are his wife, Eva, a sister, Mrs. Albert (Lula) Nicholson of Lenox, his nieces and nephews and friends.
