John F. Herbert Dead

Funeral services for John Francis Herbert, 48, who died Thurdsday, June 2, at 9:30 p.m. at the home of his mother, Mrs. Agnes Herbert, 200 Oakwood ave, were held Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock from St. Mary's Catholic church, of which the deceased was a member. Death was due to a comlication of diseases. Services were conducted by Rev. Father O'Connor, and interment was in St. Mary's cemetery. Friends who served as pallbearers were Jack Reardon, A. H. Remy, Bernard O'Rourke, Frank S. Evans, E. Taylor and Ed Roach. Those from a distance to attend the funeral were Mrs. Anna Nunn, Pacific Junction; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Farrell, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Sweeney and family and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sheehy, Creston; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Herbert and family, Omaha and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Herbert, Macedonia. Deceased was born at Red Oak, Sept. 30, 1879, and was the son of Martin and Agnes Herbert. Most of his life was spent in Red Oak with the exception of about 19 years, when he lived in Wyoming, Montana and Nebraska and was employed at railroad work. He never married. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Agnes Herbert; two brother, Mike Herbert, of Macedonia, and Leo Herbert, of Omaha, and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Sheehy and Mrs. Grace Sweeney, of Creston; and Miss Minnie Herbert of Red Oak.
