LOUISA E. LATHROP DEAD

Louisa E. Lathrop, 72, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 1:30 p.m. at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. G. E. Robinson, 701 Reed St., from heart trouble. Mrs.
Lathrop's health had been greatly impaired for the last two years, yet her
last sickness lasted only two weeks. Funeral services were held Wednesday
from the Christian church, at 10 a.m. Rev. Ira Carney conducted the
services. Friends who acted as pallbearers were L. D. Powell, M. L.
Stewart, Wilbur Cozad, J. B. Adams, Carl Rapp and C. E. Stout. The remains
were taken to Manning for interment.

Deceased was born at Salem, Iowa, March 6, 1855, and was the daughter of Wm.
B. and Susanna Hockett. She was married at Audubon March, 1881, to Calvin
W. Lathrop. Mr. Lathrop died Aug. 29, 1891, at North Platte, Neb. Mrs.
Lathrop has made her home in Red Oak for the past 17 years. Surviving are
one son and two daughters, as follows: Clyde W. Lathrop, Marshfield, Wis.;
Mrs. A. H. Tate, Rossie, Iowa; and Mrs. G. E. Robinson, Red Oak; also two
brothers and two sisters, John T. and G. W. Hockett, of Manning; Mrs. C. E.
Weston of Ames and Mrs. A. W. Dales, of Harlan.
