FROM NEWSPAPER CLIPPING FOUND IN FAMILY BIBLE:

Dewey G. Allison, 72, of Oskaloosa and formerly of Albia died May 21, 1988, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Knoxville. Services were held 1 p.m. Monday at Gilbert Funeral Home in Albia, the Rev. David Stout officiating. Burial with military rite was in Eslinger Cemetery in Monroe County. He was born March 16, 1916, at Oskaloosa to Alfred and Osie Major Allison. He had worked as a laborer in Oskaloosa and Newton. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Disabled American Veterans. He married Maxine Turner. She died in 1968. He is survived by four sons, John of Newton, Dewey of Albia, and Robert and Sammy of Des Moines; 12 granchildren; five great-grandchildren; five brothers, Sam and Albert of oskaloosa, Pete of California, Mike of Minnesota and Dick of Des Moines; and four sisters, Elsie Rowley and Ethel Potter of Albia, Betty Groedt of Oskaloosa and Dorothy Trotter of Newton.
