Johnston, Beulah Edna Mohler

“Beulah Johnston, 81, formerly of Monroe County, died Saturday [May 13, 1978] at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Indianola. She was born in Taylor Co. (IA) on Feb. 1, 1897, the daughter of George [Silas] and Matilda [Jane Brock] Mohler. A longtime resident of Monroe County, she was a teacher in Taylor Co. [IA] prior to her marriage. She was a member of the United Presbysterian Church. On Feb. 16, 1921, she married J. Carl Johnston. He died Aug. 21, 1970. Surviving are two daughters, Charlene Kirkwood of Knoxville and Alice Linville of Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church with Dr. Herbert Brockway of LaGrange Park, Ill., officiating. Burial will be in Oak View Cemetery.”
