Deaths
Kevin Sciesinski

Kevin Joseph Scieszinski, 34, of Urbandale died October 24, 1990, at Monroe County Hospital in Albia. Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albia, the Rev. M.J. Brothersen officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Albia.

He was born May 11, 1956, in Ottumwa to Jack and Blanche Brooke Scieszinski. He was a graduate of Albia High School and William Penn College. He had lived in Des Moines and was an account executive for Naegele Outdoor Advertising in Des Moines. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albia, the board of the Iowa Cancer Society and the Brass Breakfast Club.

He is survived by his fiancé, Joan McFee of Urbandale; his father of Albia; his stepmother, Shirley of Albia; two brothers, Jack and Mike, both of Albia; three sisters, Sharon Hansen of Edina, Minn., Susan Kennedy of Sparta, N.J., and Patty Hannam of Albia; and 12 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Vigil services will be 8 p.m. Friday at Geyer-Nordstrom Funeral Chapel in Albia.

Visitation begins 9 a.m. Friday and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 6-9 p.m. Friday.

Memorials may be made to American cancer Society or Monroe County Sports Complex.

CARD OF THANKS

All of the love and support we received at the time of Kevin's death has been overwhelming. The cards, personal notes, phone calls, food, flowers, masses and memorial donations have been a comfort to us all. We sincerely thank all of you who acknowledged our loss. Kevin was truly a special young man, and it's consoling to know that so many others thought so too.

Fitting Tribute

Naegele Outdoor Advertising has paid tribute to former Albian, Kevin Scieszinski, a top salesman for the Des Moines firm. Scieszinski died last month of cancer while on a flight back to Iowa from California where he had traveled to undergo treatments. The billboard is on Keosauque Way in downtown Des Moines.
