Monday, January 23, 1956Mrs. Shovlain Dies At Russell Today
Mrs. Mary Ann Shovlain, 95, died today at O'Donnell Nursing home in Russell.
The body is at Humeston Funeral home here.
Mrs. Shovlain was born at Weller March 22, 1861; and lived in that community until the death of her husband, Pat, in 1942. Until going to the nursing home about a year ago she had made her home with a son, James Shovlain, at Melrose.
Survivors are seven children, Mrs. L. P. Kilfoy and Mrs. Robert Hirsch, both of Chicago, Mrs. L. A. Wilson of Russell, Hugh Shovlain of Ottumwa, Tom Shovlain of Lovilia and Mrs. Anna Comer and James Shovlain, both of Melrose.
The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 o'clock tonight and Tuesday at the funeral home. Requiem mass will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's church, Melrose, with the Rev. R. J. McGrath officiating, and burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Weller.
