Deaths
James Sinnott

James William Sinnott, 62, of Albia died Feb. 28, 1987, at Veterans Medical Center, Des Moines.

He was born in Albia on Nov. 16, 1924, the son of James T. and Edna McGrath Sinnott.

He had operated Tatman’s Cigar Store and later operated the Frontier Store. He had also been employed by Chamberlain Manufacturing. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albia and the Knights of Columbus. An Army veteran of World War II, he was also a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

On Nov. 16, 1946, he married Martina Stone in Georgetown. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother, Edna of Albia; one son, Donnie of Albia; one daughter, Patricia Scieszinski of Melrose; one brother, Ed of Albia; one sister, Mary T. Kelleher of Albia; and five grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his father and one brother.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albia, with the Rev. M. J. Brothersen officiating. Burial with military rites will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

A Knights of Columbus rosary will be recited 7 p.m. tonight (Tuesday) at Gilbert Funeral Home in Albia.

An open memorial has been established.
