Mary T. Kelleher

Mary T. Kelleher, age 88 of Iowa City, formerly of Albia, died on Wednesday evening, January 14, 2015 at the Solon Care Center in Solon, Iowa under Hospice care. She was born on December 28, 1926 in Ottumwa, Iowa to James and Edna (McGrath) Sinnott.

She graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Georgetown, class of 1945. She married Ed Kelleher on October 23, 1948 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Georgetown. Ed died on January 5, 2003. She worked at Chamberlains Manufacturing in Albia. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albia and St. Mary's Altar and Rosary.

Mary T. is survived by her three daughters, Marianne (Pete) Caffee of Sorrento, FL., Madeline (Jim) Brewer of Iowa City, Ia., Maureen (Max) Kempf of Middletown, DE., son Ed J. (Mary) Kelleher of Omaha, NE., eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ed; brother, James (Jimmy) Sinnott, twin brother, Ed Sinnott, and infant brother, Richard Sinnott.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Monday, January 19, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albia with Fr. Michael E. Volkmer C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will follow services in St. Mary's Cemetery in Albia. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 18, 2015 opening to the public at 1:00 pm and family will be present from 4-8 pm. A rosary will be led by St. Mary's Altar and Rosary at 4:00 pm and a Christian Wake Service will be held at 6:00 pm Sunday evening at Sinnott Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Albia. Memorials directed to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or St. Mary's Cemetery. Online condolences for the family may be left at sinnottfuneralhome.com. Services entrusted with Sinnott Pierschbacher Funeral Home.
