Obituary from the Onawa Democrat: A LOVING MOTHER GONE TO REST Ethel Charlotte Burrell was born in Missouri February 14, 1884 and died at Orson, Iowa, March the 12th, l923, aged 39 years and 28 days. On April the 15th, 1903 she was married to Mr. George O'Connor at Onawa, Iowa. Nine children were born to the union two of whom have preceded the mother over the great divide. Those living are as follows: Wava, Ida, Mildred, Alice, George, John and Mable, the youngest being 17 months old. She also leaves three brothers, Oscar, Oral and George all of Onawa. A loving husband and many relatives and friends who mourn her departure. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the husband and the children. How sad it seems for the children to be left without a mother's care and oversight! We commend them to the father of mercy. Short services were conducted from the home in Orson and the funeral sermon was preached by Rev. C. S. Kleckner in the local Christian church on Wednesday afternoon March 14 and burial was made in the Onawa cemetery. Mrs. Walter Plinske sang three very appropriate solos."
