Obituary in the Onawa Sentinel newspaper dated October 17, 1905: Death of Mother O'Connor. Mrs. Anna O'Connor, wife of Frank O'Connor, Sr., died at her home in this city Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, after an illness of about three weeks. On Saturday evening she was taken worse in her recent illness and gradually sank away until the end came. Anna Bradley was born in Kentucky, September 20, 1835. Just fifty years ago October 10th, last she was united in marriage to her surviving husband, at Menden, Michigan. In 1867 they came to Monona county, where they have ever since resided. To them five children were born, all of whom are living, they are Frank, Charles, and George, Mrs. Ida Hawkins and Mrs. Nellie Riggs. The children all reside in Onawa except the latter. Mrs. O'Connor was purely a home woman, never taking pleasure in the usual festivities of the world, but always happy in her own home surrounded with her children. Besides her own children she leaves a number of grand children, who will miss grandma and a host of friends who extend sympathy to the bereaved husband and children. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00, services conducted by Rev. Pace and the remains interred in the Onawa Cemetery.
