CASTANA, Iowa — Alice E. Larsen, 92, died Wednesday, June 9, 1999, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Castana Community United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Bob Fritzmeier officiating. Burial will be in Center Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mrs. Larsen was born on Dec. 15, 1906, at Moorhead, Iowa, the daughter of Jens B. and Dagmar (Nickoliasen) Jensen. She graduated from Castana High School.

She married Alvin Larsen on Nov. 14, 1933, in Ida Grove, Iowa. The couple farmed near Castana, having lived on their farm since 1941. Alvin died on July 28, 1992.

She was a member of the Castana Community United Church of Christ.

Survivors include four sons and their wives, Norman and Marie Anna of Colusa, Calif., Arne and Hallie of Aloha, Ore., Mike and Gloria Jean of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Alan and Carole of Clearfield, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by a son, Eric; a brother, Maurice Jensen and a sister, Iva Barrett.
