Mrs. Henry Schimmer, 81, of Danbury died Friday evening at a Mapleton, Iowa nursing home after a long illness. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Danbury, with the Rev. Robert Thiele officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Danbury.

The Rosary will be eight o'clock tonight at the Walter Funeral Home, Mapleton.

Mrs. Schimmer, the former Katherine Mary Erlemeier, was born April 4, 1892 in Danbury. She married Henry Schimmer on Jan. 21, 1913 in Danbury. They farmed in the Danbury area until moving to Danbury in 1953. He died in 1964.

She had resided at the Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton for the past four years.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Rosary Society, the American Legion Auxiliary at Danbury and the Gold Star Mothers.

Survivors include five daughters, Miss Helena Schimmer of Cherokee, Iowa, Mrs. Silvina Schrunk of Salem, Mo., Mrs. Gene (Mary) Berg of Queens Village, N.Y., Mrs. Brodus (Loretta) Langrum of Applegate, Ore., and Mrs. Ray (Rosina) Corum of Pasadena, Calif.; two sons, Charles of Seligman, Mo., and Joseph of Onalaska, Wis.; 26 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph Erlemeier of Sioux City, John Erlemeier of Seligman and Charles Erlemeier of Mapleton, and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Venner and Miss Cecelia Erlemeier of Breda, Iowa, and Miss Theresa Erlemeier of Odebolt, Iowa.
