19 January 2024Donald “Don” Eugene Peters II, 71, of Mapleton, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at his residence.
A memorial service will be 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa, with Darren C. E. Goslar, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Don’s obituary. At a later date there will be a service in Colorado. A visitation will be 5:00 -7:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
Donald Eugene was born December 28, 1952, in Pratt, Kansas, the son of Donald and Phyllis (Bunsold) Peters. He was raised in Sioux City, Iowa, graduated from Central High School with the class of 1971. After high school, he attended college at the University of Wyoming, where he belonged to the ATO fraternity.
He was a salesman for agriculture feeders in Sioux City, Iowa. Don worked at Bomgaars in Mapleton.
Don enjoyed hanging out with his friends and having a couple of drinks, and motorcycles. He had a way with words when talking to anyone. Don loved his two black German shepherds, Bo and Bella.
Survivors include his caregiver, Jeanie (Greg) Erlemeier of Soldier, Iowa; grandson, Ben Peters of Colorado; fur companions, Bo and Bella; and numerous friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Phyllis (Bunsold) Peters; and son, Broderick “Brody” Peters.
