DANBURY, Iowa -- Rose Drea, 93, of Danbury died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury, with the Rev. Terry Roder officiating. Burial will be in Danbury Catholic Cemetery at Danbury. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with a 3:30 p.m. rosary led by St. Mary's Society and a vigil wake service at 7 p.m., at the church. Visitation will resume 9 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Armstrong Funeral Home of Mapleton and Danbury.

Rose was born Feb. 3, 1913, at Danbury, the daughter of George and Anna Schrunk. She grew up in the Danbury area, where she attended school and graduated from Danbury Public High School. She furthered her education by completing beauty school.

She was united in marriage to F. Edmund Drea on June 11, 1935, at Danbury. The couple moved to Walnut, Iowa in 1948, where they owned and operated Drea Ford Agency until 1956. At that time they moved onto a farm near Danbury, which they farmed until 1982, when they moved into town. Ed died March 6, 1988.

Rose was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury as well as the St. Mary's Rosary Society.

Survivors include a son, George Drea of Iowa City, Iowa; a daughter, Deanna Anderson and her husband, Jim of Conway, Ark., 10 grandchildren; and several other relatives.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and a sister.
