Mildred H. Collins

DANBURY, Iowa -- Mildred Helena Collins, 79, of Danbury died Monday in a hospital in Mason City.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Catholic Church in Danbury. The Rev. Robert Thiele will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday by the Rosary Society and at 7:30 p.m. by the parish in the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mrs. Collins, the former Mildred Chedester, was born Dec. 17, 1903, in Ute. She graduated from Mapleton High School and later taught school in rural Monona County.

She married Joseph W. Collins July 14, 1926, in Mapleton. They farmed in the Danbury community. He died in 1970.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, The Rosary Society and American Legion Auxiliary in Danbury.

Survivors include two sons, Roland of Apple Valley, Calif., and Roger of Denison; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Jung of San Angelo, Texas, Mrs. Charles (Marilyn) Everett of Hauchuca City, Ariz. and Mrs. Robert (Carole) Hebel of Mason City; two sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Ullrich of Independence and Mrs. Esther Uhl of Onawa; 13 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
