Mrs. Daniel Collins, the former Katherine Meier, was born October 24, 1904, at Schaller, Iowa, and died September 20, 1968, at the Maple Heights Nursing home in Mapleton, Iowa, having reached the age of 63 years 10 months and 27 days.

She lived in Danbury most of her life. She married Daniel Collins November 14, 1923, he died in 1953. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rosary Society and Danbury Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors are sons, Jerald and Donald of Omaha, Eugene of Danbury, Lawrence of Mapleton, Clement of Rockford, Illinois, and Earl of New Lenox, Illinois, daughters, Mrs. Major Leon of Glendale, California, Mrs. Fern Allen of Spokane, Washington, and Mrs. Robert Poynor of Sa n
Angelo, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Margare Gross of Mapleton; brothers, Matt of Mapleton, Henry of Ida Grove and Frank of LeMars and 37 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, two sisters, four brothers and one granddaughter.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 23, 1968, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Edward Hoffman officiating. Pallbearers: Richard Meier, Wayne Meier, George Voss, Thomas Sanford, John Savening
and Melvin Boysen.
