Delain A. Sasges, 64, of Mapleton died Saturday, September 10, 1983, at his home of an apparent heart attack.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, in St. Peter's United Church of Christ at Mapleton. The Rev. Richard Hempenius and the Rev. Homer Perry officiated. Burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
There was a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Monday, in the Walter Funeral Home at Mapleton.

Mr. Sasges was born December 25, 1918 to Nichlos and Rosie (Peffer) Sasges at Charter Oak and was a lifelong resident of the Charter Oak and Mapleton communities. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Arline Ruchti September 5, 1948, at Mapleton. He was presently an automobile mechanic employed at Barry Motors in Danbury. He also
worked for Roy Otto, Drews Chevrolet and Mac's Chevrolet, all at Mapleton.

Mr. Sasges was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Loren Hollister Post 496, American Legion and Board of Director of Maple Crest Apartments, all of Mapleton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Linda of Sioux City; one brother, Francis of Denison and one sister, Mrs. Alice Larson of Sonoma,
California.

Pallbearers were Donald Davis, Bill Hagerdon, Bill Barry, Donald Koenigs, Francis Hahn and Wayne Steckelberg.
