Donna Rose Wickersham, 87, of Turin, Iowa passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Per Donna’s wishes, cremation has occurred and no services are being planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Donna Rose was born January 9, 1934 the daughter of Homer and Lucille (Himes) Black. She grew up in Monona County and graduated from Onawa High School in 1952.

Donna and Ralph “Junior” were united into marriage March 27, 1954 in Pipestone, Minnesota. To this union three children were born, Dan, Deb, and Charlie.

Donna enjoyed being a homemaker and a mom to all of her children. She was a postal worker in Mapleton, Onawa, and Turin. She retired as Postmaster in Turin, Iowa after thirty-one years.

She loved to travel with Junior and spending lots of time with family. Donna enjoyed quilting and gardening.

Donna was a member of the Turin United Methodist Church and served on the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary, Kids Club, and a Sunday School Teacher at the Turin United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-six years, Ralph “Junior” Wickersham of Turin, Iowa; her children, Dan (Denise Bartel) Wickersham of Turin, Iowa, Deb (Pat) Green of Homer, Nebraska, and Charlie (Tina) Wickersham of Sioux City, Iowa; three grandchildren, Candice and husband Josh Climer of Hartington, Nebraska, Zach and wife Jessica Wickersham of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Alexis Wickersham and husband Mike Gotlib of Haddonfield, New Jersey; great-grandchildren, Emily and Max Climer; and one sister, Darelene Ferris of Fremont, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Lucille (Himes) Black; one, sister; and five brothers.
