Valerie Lee Timm, age 77, of Ute, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at the Willow Dale Wellness Village of Battle Creek, Iowa.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 13, 2021, at the Armstrong-Van Houten Funeral Home of Ute, Iowa. Rev. Ken Miller will officiate. Committal services will follow in the St. Clair Township Cemetery of Ute, Iowa. A Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 13, 2021, at the Armstrong-Van Houten Funeral Home of Ute, Iowa.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, masks are encouraged and social distancing rules apply during all services. The Armstrong - Van Houten Funeral Home of Ute, Iowa, is in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Valerie Lee Timm, the daughter of Walter and Violet (Lindsey) Husted, was born on May 21, 1943. She grew up on the farm in the Soldier, Iowa, area and attended Soldier High School graduating with the class of 1960.

On October 22, 1961, Valerie was united in marriage to Gary A. Timm. The couple made their home on an acreage in the Charter Oak and Ute, Iowa, area. The couple was blessed with two children, Lana and Larry. Valerie enjoyed being a homemaker raising their children. For many summers she was in charge of a local bean walking crew and she also helped care for a neighbor who was ill. Later in life Valerie could be found working at the Senior Center in Ute helping serve meals. She was a member of the Onawa Methodist Church.

Valerie enjoyed cooking and baking as well as playing cards, especially euchre. She enjoyed spending time outside maintaining her yard and flowers. Valerie loved caring for and tending to her faithful four-legged companions Nikki, Angel, Bowser and Rosie. Most of all Valerie treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory include her children Lana Timm of Mapleton, IA and Larry (Sharlene) Timm of Sac City, IA; grandchildren Jonathan (Amanda) Hookham of Anthon, IA, Jirami Hookham of Mapleton, IA, Aaron Timm of Greenfield, IA and Allison (Nathan) Brown of Danbury, IA; great-grandchildren Nevaeh, Kathrine and Brantley Brown, Justin and Savannah Hookham; sister Janet (Clint) Kraft of Olathe, KS; niece Lindsey (Grahm) Petersen of Madison, TN; extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Violet Husted; and husband Gary Timm.
