MRS. R. L. PRATHER PASSED TO REWARD.
Mrs. R. L. Prather died at her home in northwest Onawa Tuesday, June 11th, after an illness of several months and a long period of failing health.

The wife of R. L. Prather who formerly conducted a lumber business in this city, she was well known and had a host of friends who mourn her passing after an acquaintance and growing friendship through a period of more than two score years residence here.

In her active years here, Mrs. Prather held membership in several patriotic and social organizations, being formerly a member of Onawa Chapter Daughters of American Revolution and the Royal Neighbors of America.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the Congregational church, Rev. Oliver M. Adams officiating.

Mittie L. Prather was born February 21st, 1864 at Nashville, Ill., her father dying when she was a small child. She went to Sandoval, Ill., with her mother. She completed the common school education and taught school in her native state. She was a member of the Methodist church from girlhood though attending the Congregational church here on account of the convenience of attending there, until crippled with rheumatism.

She was married to R. L. Prather in Sandoval, Ill., Feb. 11th, 1886. Her final illness dated from April 8 this year being confined to her bed since that time.

Besides her widower, she leaves to mourn her death a sister, Mrs. Eugene Shtanick of Great Falls, Mont. And sister-in-law, Miss Sadie D. Prather and a host of friends.
