17Jan1901 Monona County Gazette Peter Dawson Fitch, a well known and respected resident of Onawa, died Tuesday night about 12 o'clock at the age of 82 years. He was born in Virginia, but moved west about 30 years ago and located in Nebraska, where his wife died eight years ago. He was the father of nice children of whom two are living. For several years past he has made his home with his son A.D. Fitch here in town. He had been a member of the Methodist church for 60 years. The funeral was held at the M.E. church, conducted by Rev. Bassett.
