Nancy Lou Johnson, 68, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Iowa Methodist Hospital.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa with Evangelist Dale Wolf, officiating. Burial will be in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service.

Nancy Lou Johnson was born on October 13, 1951, in Fairbury, NE, the daughter of Charles E. and Evelyn Elizabeth (Henry) Powers. Nancy was baptized from the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She attended school in Fairbury, Nebraska.

Nancy Lou and Fred Hall, Sr. were united in marriage on November 13, 1970 at the Faith Lutheran Church, Onawa, Iowa, and to this union four children were born, Rhonda, Fred Hall, Jr., Kenneth Joshua, and Tish. The couple was later divorced.

Nancy loved to paint and be in her garden. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed dancing and loved music. She was always full of laughter and joy.

Survivors include three children, Rhonda (Brian) Wallace of Norwalk, IA, Fred Hall, Jr. of Denison, IA, and Tish (Josh) Newman of West Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Justin Davey, Kara Dille, Amanda Hall-Segebart, Austin Hall, Samuel Downey, Joseph Newman, and Jack Wallace; great-grandchildren, Avery and Emmet Dillie and Calvin and Dennis Segebart; siblings, Jerry Powers of Lincoln, NE, Leslie (Sharon) Powers of Sibley, Iowa, Chad Powers of Arizona, Charlene (Wayne) Greve of Cereco, NE, David (Lorie) Powers of Hebron, NE, Harold (Sharon) Swanson of Lyons, NE, and Calvin (Marie) Swanson of Lyons, NE; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Joshua at birth; her parents, Charles E. Powers and Evelyn Elizabeth Swanson; step-father, Harold “Sonny” Swanson, Jr.; one sister, Beverly Wylie; great-grandson, Jason Segebart; and many aunts and uncles.
