BLENCOE MAN DROWNS IN THE MISSOURI RIVER

Leslie Pfleiger, 50 years old, bachelor, was drowned in the Missouri river, Friday night, on the old Dave Cook place west of Blencoe, had been fishing and setting some lines and is believed that while standing at the edge of the river and casting out a throw line, he was Jerken into the water. Being unable to swim, be easily drowned.

Searching parties were organized to find the body and worked late Friday night and all day Saturday. On Sunday morning, a group composed of his brother, Charles Pfleiger, Fred Karch, O. L. Johnson, George Burger, and the Bedford boys were sitting on the bank watching the river when suddenly his body appeared.

The body was removed by N. C Gray to his undertaking parlors and buried Sunday afternoon in the family lot in Graceland cemetery.
Mr. Pfleiger had lived west of Blencoe for about 25 years.

He is survived by his father, George Pfleiger, two brothers, Charles and Carl. Rev. M. P. Jones conducted a short service at the grave.
