Young Mother Passes Away
Mrs. Julius Johnson, Young Mother Passed Away Friday Morning July 31

Leaves a Husband and 2 Daughters- Funeral Services Held Last Sunday From The Home Conducted By Rev. Mr. Anderson

God has taken from our midst another Onawa mother; Mrs. Julius Johnson was called to our Heavenly Father at 4 a.m. Friday morning July 31st. Mrs. Johnson first took sick last October at the time spent four weeks in the Onawa Hospital. On Monday evening another attack came, and she was rushed to the hospital for another operation. This last attack proved fatal and at 4 a.m. Friday morning she went to rest in the Lord.

Mrs. Johnson, having lived all her life in the community, was well liked and had endeared herself to all who came to know her.

Even though she was permitted to be with is only for a short time, the memory of her Christian life will not be forgotten.

Mrs. Julius Johnson (nee Myrtle Emeline Olson) was born at Sloan, Iowa (Albaton) September 1, 1896. She was baptized and confirmed in the Skien Lutheran Church at Albaton. The Christ she came to know in childhood gave her place during the last hours.

She was very active in church work, both at Albaton and Onawa. On June 8, 1921 she was united in marriage with Julius Johnson.

They were blessed with two children, Emelene and Donna Lue who together with the husband mourn the temporary earthly separation. Also 6 brothers, Inman of Armour, South Dakota, Edwin of Soldier, Iowa, Frances and Harold of Sloan, Iowa and Richard, Northfield, Minnesota, one brother Emil already gone to rest and two sisters, Mrs. Lot Brighton and Mrs. Henry Lee of Sloan, Iowa survive.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon from the home in Onawa at 1 p.m. and from the Skein Lutheran Church at Albaton at 3 p.m. Pastor O.B. Anderson officiating. The pastor spoke on the text taken from John 14:1-3, “Let not your heart be troubled ye believe in God, believe also in me.” Miss Lillie Oen of Doluth, Minnesota rendered vocal selections at the church service and at the interment service at the cemetery.

The Barnard Funeral Home conducted the funeral.
