Lewis Docken, 50, Onawa, Iowa, formerly of Omaha, Nebraska, died Thursday, March 19, 2009 in a Sioux City hospital.

Lewis' was born June 6, 1958 at Onawa, Iowa, the son of Lewis and Carolyn (Rhode) Docken, Sr. He graduated from Benson High School in Omaha, Nebraska. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1977.

Lewis and Kristine Schmidt were united in marriage November 18, 1983 at Ft. Madison, Iowa. Lewis was an over the road truck driver. He had owned Thorn Trucking and currently was employed by Consumers Supply.

Lewis was a member of ABATE. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend and loved spending time with his grandson. He loved the outdoors and was an avid motorcycle enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife, Kristine of Omaha; a special friend Jody Purgett of Onawa; his biological mother, Florence Riley of Onawa; a son, Steven Docken of Onawa; a daughter, Heather Docken of Omaha; a grandson, James Docken of Omaha; his siblings, Norman Coleman of Omaha, Judy Halbieb of Omaha, Lisa Williams of Onawa and Larry and his wife Vickie Riley of Whiting, IA and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; a brother, Donnie Coleman and a sister Glennda Englegau.

Funeral services were 10:30 A.M. Monday, March 23, 2009 at Rush Family Chapel at Onawa with Pastor Todd Owen officiating. Music selections were "Troubadour" and "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus". The funeral procession was led by the Iron Horse Last Ride and The Patriot Riders to the Onawa Cemetery. Military honors were conducted by the United States Marine Corps. Visitation was 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

Casket bearers were Steve, Mark and Jack Docken, Dave Vaughn, Wayne Jepson and Larry Riley.
