Vivian Venita Johnson, daughter of Benjamin and Ima (Thomas) Stebbins, was born August 6, 1922 in Harrison County, Iowa. She passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa, Iowa at the age of 86.

Vivian was raised and attended school in Mondamin, Iowa. When Vivian was a teenager, her family moved to Whiting, Iowa and she finished her schooling there. After school, Vivian began working in Sioux City.

On August 1, 1947, Vivian was united in marriage to Paul Rowland in Onawa, Iowa. To this union four children were born: Anita Jean, Donna, Paul Jr., and Stacey Lee. The family made their home in Turin. Paul passed away on February 20, 1985.

On July 14, 1988, Vivian married Rollie Johnson. They made their home in Onawa. Rollie passed away in July of 2007. In recent years, Vivian has made her home at the Elmwood Care Centre.

Vivian loved music and enjoyed dancing. While living in Turin, she was active in the Turin United Methodist Church. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; two sons: Charles Royce and Paul Jr.; and two brothers: Donald and Leslie.

She is survived by three daughters: Anita Jean Richardson and husband, Roger of Sioux City, Donna Taylor of Sioux City, and Stacey Brown of Casper, WY; 23 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; three sisters: Ada Shea of Brainerd, MN, Leone Brown of Mapleton, and Erma Donovan of Columbus, OH; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services were held on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa, Iowa.

Officiating was Pastor Arley Ellingson. Music was recorded selections "Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art". Honorary Pallbearers were Vivian's Grandchildren Patrick Michael LeFebvre, Roger Paul LeFebvre, Damon Ooten, Chad Rose, Joseph Plendl and Eric Rowland. Interment at Belvidere Cemetery of Turin, Iowa.

Visitation was one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Professional Services by Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa Travis P. Root, Funeral Director.
