Bub was born Nov. 18, 1951, in Onawa, Iowa, the son of Melvin J. and Anna (Babb) Woodward. He was raised on a farm near Grant Center, Iowa, and attended Maple Valley Community Schools. Several years ago, he purchased land in Arkansas and moved there with his family to farm the land. He raised and sold livestock. He planted a huge garden and put it all up for future use. He was a hunter and also had meat put up for his family's use. He was an excellent cook and loved to cook for his family. At the time of his death, he operated a farm near Sidney, Ark.
