Bernard E. Conway, 92, Whiting, Iowa died Tuesday, October 25, 2005 in Burgess Health Center, Onawa, Iowa.

Bernard was born May 4, 1913 at Onawa, Iowa the son of, Eugene and Josie (Miller) Conway. He attended country school and lived the most of his life in the Onawa and Whiting area. He was a mechanic for International Harvester at the plant in Moline, IL during World War II and also was employed at International Harvester and various locations in Onawa and Whiting.

He married Rosella I. Franzenburg December 18, 1974 at Onawa. They made their home in Whiting where Bernard operated a machine shop. The couple enjoyed their retirement and spent many days fishing and picnicking on the banks of nearby streams and lakes. They entered Pleasant View Care Center together in 1998. Rosella passed away September 22, 2000.

Survivors include a brother and his wife, John and Bonnie Conway of Ft. Calhoun, NE; a sister, Doris Funkhouser; a sister-in-law, Alice Conway and a brother-in-law, Oscar Dahl all of Whiting.

In addition to his wife, he was, preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Heard and Mildred Dahl and a brother, Harold Conway.

Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2005 at Onawa Cemetery with Rev. Reva B. Karstens, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa.

Casket bearers were John Conway, Jr., Dana Kirby, Leonard Miller, Robert Miller, Tim Roberts and Arnold Wenn.
