Charles Wayne Koenig, 54, of Onawa, Iowa died Saturday, July 16, 2005 from an apparent heart attack at Burgess Health Center, Onawa.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2005 at the Covenant Church in Sloan, IA with the Rev. Reva B. Karstens officiating. Visitation was from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2005 at Rush Family Care Service, Onawa. Burial will be at a later date.

Wayne was born November 2, 1950 at Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Carroll and Ina (Swanson) Koenig.

Wayne graduated from Westwood High School in 1968. After high school he served in Germany during Vietnam. Wayne was a farm and construction laborer for most of his life except for the eight years he drove for City Bus in Livermore, CA.

Survivors include his mother, Ina Koenig of Whiting, IA; a sister, Jean Cooley of Overland Park, KS, a brother Joel Koenig and his wife, Cheryl of Whiting; two nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father; two nephews; and his significant other, Carmen.
