Everett Ernest Struble, 96, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2004 at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa, Iowa.

Everett was born November 23, 1907, on the family farm in Jordan Township, Castana, Iowa, the son of Frank and Lorinda (Morton) Struble. He resided on that farm until September 1998 when he entered Elmwood Care Centre

He attended country school through eighth grade and then entered Soldier High School where he graduated in 1927. He farmed with his father on the home place and worked for Monona County as a road grader in Jordan Township for several years before he married Lillian Madison September 19, 1932 in Belgrade, Nebraska. Four children were born to this union, Virginia, Donna, Jerry and Ron. Everett farmed until 1979 when he rented his crop ground but continued to raise livestock until he retired and sold his cattle in 1997

He was a member of First Christian Church and enjoyed taking care of livestock and reading

Everett leaves to mourn his death his wife, Lillian of 71 years, three children and their spouses, Virginia and Del Dale of Elkhorn, NE; Jerry and Gloria Struble of Castana, Iowa and Ron and Sharon Struble of Escondido, CA, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

He was, preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lorinda, a daughter Donna Struble who passed away in 1942, four brothers, Charlie, Joe, Merrill and Park, and a sister, Wreath

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 16,2004 at Rush Family Chapel with Rev. Dennis Olson officiating. The congregation sung "The Haven of Rest" and "Amazing Grace with Ann Phillips, organist. Burial was in Jordan Township Cemetery at Soldier, lowa.

Casket bearers is were Alan Dale, Mark Dale, Ron Struble, Benjamin Caldwell, Richard Caldwell, Jerry Struble and Delbert Dale

Memorials may be directed to Nebowa Church Camp through the First Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa.
