Wilma P (Jensen) Peterson, 90, Whiting, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, Iowa died Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting, Iowa.

Wilma was born July 28, 1913 at Filly, Nebraska, the daughter of Hans C. and Anna (Sorensen) Jensen. She graduated from Adams High School in Nebraska before moving to Hornick, Iowa. Later she moved to Chicago, Illinois where she was a maid and nanny and also clerked at a market. She attended beautician school in Chicago and was a beautician there for over 40 years before moving to Sioux City, Iowa.

She married Otis Peterson May 14, 1990 at Kearney, NE. Mr. Peterson passed away June 1, 1998. Wilma had been a resident of Pleasant View the past three years.

Survivors include two sisters and their husbands, Eunice and Bill Gordge of Roanoke, VA and Katie and Chuck Johnson of Whiting, IA; a stepson and his wife, Larry and Linda Peterson of Kearney, NE; a step-granddaughter; a step-great grandson and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was, preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother and infant sister and brothers, Warren Jensen, L. G. Skinner Jensen and Paul Jensen.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 am Monday, June 21, 2004 at Community Church of Christ at Sloan, Iowa with Dr. Emery Killian officiating. The congregation sang "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross" with Bonnie Ray, organist. Burial was in Sloan Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to service time. Arrangements were under the direction of Rush Family Care Service at Onawa, IA.
