ONAWA, Iowa -- It is with great sadness that the family of Alan D. Parker, 52, of Seattle, Wash., formerly of Onawa, announces his well-lived life came to an end on Jan. 13, 2007, in Seattle, due to complications related to treatment he was receiving for his ongoing battle against cancer.

In 1975, he married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia Cass Parker. He was a devoted father to three beautiful children, Allison, Bradley and Eric. His family was always the most important priority in his life. Al worked for Georgia-Pacific Corporation for more than 25 years, where he was a highly respected and admired manager. He treasured the outdoors and was an enthusiastic fisherman, skier and horseman and especially enjoyed embarking on all sorts of adventures in the mountains of Wyoming and Montana. He loved to travel and often combined his passion for running by participating in dozens of marathons while on trips. He was proud of having run the Marine Corp Marathon, the Boston Marathon twice and the Firenze Marathon in Florence, Italy.

Al's most prized possession was his 1999 Harley Davidson Road King Classic. He and his wife, Cindy, covered thousands of miles on the bike, creating many cherished memories along the way.
