ONAWA, Iowa -- Naomi Elizabeth King, 7, of Onawa died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, at her residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in Onawa, with the Revs. Mike Cahill and David Montecuollo officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Rush Family Care Center in Onawa.

Naomi was born Jan. 4, 1995, in Onawa, the daughter of David and Cindy (Romine) King. She attended Lark Elementary School in Onawa and was in the second grade. Her family and friends were very important to her. She enjoyed arts and crafts, exhibiting items in the open class area of the Monona County Fair, attending Vacation Bible School, her Make-A-Wish trip to Disney World and loved going to the zoo. She wanted to be a zoo keeper when she grew up and take care of the "cats." She enjoyed her cat, Princess, and loved going to school. Naomi also enjoyed the numerous exchange students her family hosted.

Those left to cherish her memory include her parents; two sisters, Rachel and Hannah, both at home; a brother, Josh at home; her grandparents, Robert and Alma Romine of Palisade, Neb., and Delbert and Dorthy King of Hancock, Iowa; and great-grandmother, Dorothy Carr of Chino, Calif. Her extended family includes Bob and Darlene King, Kyle and Cody; Steve and Tracy King, Corey, Derek and Kaitlyn; and Randy and Christy Romine, Elise, Hope and Dallas.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Elmer and Ruth Sheffer, Charley and Dorothy Romine, Robert Carr and Charles and Keren King.

Pallbearers will be Laura Kuhlmann, Cindy Kuhlmann, Blake Wagner and Mike Cahill. Honorary pallbearers will be her second-grade classmates; her teachers, Mrs. Henschen, Mrs. Helton and Ms. Reinke; the Burgess Home Health/Hospice staff and volunteers; and special friends, Jennifer Burns and Sharon Gries.
