ONAWA, Iowa -- Dian A. Hoffman, 46, of Glenwood, Iowa, formerly of Onawa, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at Glenwood Resource Center following a six-year battle with cancer.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa, with the Rev. Steve Hetzel officiating. Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Monday in Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Dian A. Hoffman was born March 25, 1956, in Onawa, the daughter of Walter and Lucille Hoffman. Dian moved to Glenwood Resource Center on Aug. 1, 1962. She was baptized at First Lutheran Church in Onawa, and she attended The Chapel at Glenwood.

She participated in a variety of activities, including the Special Olympics, Sidney Rodeo and nearly every outing that was planned. She also enjoyed trips to see her family.

Survivors include her sister, Phyllis Hoffman Griswold and her husband, Jon of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three brothers, Frank Hoffman and his wife, Marlene of Spencer, Iowa, Wayne Hoffman and his wife, Jeri Coffey and Roger Hoffman, all of Denver, Colo.; her beloved uncle and aunt, Harry and Dorothy Hoffman, and an aunt, Bernice Stevenson, all of Onawa; several nieces and nephews; and her dear friends from Glenwood Resource Center.

Dian was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Wayne Hoffman.

Memorials in Dian's name may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Special Olympics of Iowa.
