Eugene Wimmer Buried Tuesday

Funeral Services Held in St. Mary's Church for Long Time Resident

Funeral services were held for Eugene Wimmer, 65-year-old longtime resident or this community, in St. Mary's Catholic church Tuesday morning of last week. Father A. H. Ocken, pastor of the church, Rev Conlon of Anthon and Rev. Bausch of Danbury said the solemn requiem high mass.

Mr. Wimmer passed away the previous Sunday morning in his home from a heart attack. He had been in poor health since last November at which time he spent several weeks In St. Joseph's Hospital in Sioux City

Interment was In St. Mary's cemetery with the Olerlch Funeral home in charge. Pall bearers were Lou Brenner, George and Andrew Schiels. Joe and William Uhl and Earl Barry

Born at Rhenium, Alsace Lorraine, Germany, at the age of 15 in company with his sister, Mary, he came to this country and was employed on a farm near Panama, la., in Shelby county. In 1901 he was married to Miss Katherine Kwapeszeskl. They moved to a farm near Charter Oak. To this union one son, Joe Wimmer. was born.

Mr. Wimmer moved to this community in 1913 and the following year his wife passed away in 1916 he was married to Miss Mary Dergans of Mapleton and they moved to a farm 4 1/2 miles south of Mapleton which has been their home since. In 192 he accompanied his brother, John Wimmer to Germany to visit their mother

He Is survived by 3 sons, Joe Wimmer, August Wimmer and Eugene Wimmer, Jr., of Mapleton, and 1 daughter, Mrs. Otto (Margaret) Good and Mrs. Leonard (Elnora) Reimer of Danbury, Mrs. Joe (Katherine) Bosch and Miss Rose Wimmer of Mapleton, 3 grandchildren, 1 brother, John Wimmer of Mapleton, one sister, Mrs. Mary Hoffman of Omaha, and several brothers and sisters In Germany

Out of town relatives and friends here for the funeral were John Schechinger and Mrs. Barbara Wagaman and son, John, of Harlan, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kwapeszeskl of Avoca, Mrs. Rose Flynn and children, James and Leona, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dergans and August Dergans of Soldier, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Berg and Mrs. Mary Ohnhaus and children of Charter Oak, Mr. und Mrs. Nick Zelman and family of Denison and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Wimmer of Dunlap.

Eugene Wimmer Dies Suddenly

Funeral Services Held in St. Mary's Church Here Tuesday Morning Funeral services were held Tuesday morning In St. Mary's Catholic church for Eugene Wimmer, well known Mapleton farmer who passed away suddenly at his home southwest of Mapleton of a heart attack early Sunday morning. He had been in failing health the last year.
Rev. A H. Oeken, pastor or the church, officiated, with Rev. Bausch of Danbury and Rev. Conlon or Anthon assisting in the solemn requiem mass. Theo Olerlch Funeral home was in charge or burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lou Brenner, George and Andrew Schiels, Joe and William Uhl and Earl Barry were pallbearers.

He is survived by his widow and several children. A complete obituary will be published next week.
