SLOAN, Iowa -- Joe Marshall, 73, of Sloan died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa, with the Rev. Richard Moore officiating. There will be no visitation.

Joe was born July 19, 1931, in Whiting, Iowa, the son of Jesse and Isabella (Weir) Marshall. He graduated from Sloan High School and later farmed in the Sloan and Salix, Iowa, areas for many years. He was marshal of Bluff View for more than 10 years. He married Lois Dula.

He was a member of the Elks Club in South Sioux City. He enjoyed welding and fishing.

Survivors include his children and spouses, Dan and Stacey Marshall of Dumas, Texas, Paul and Judy Marshall of Mesick, Mich., Don and Kelly Marshall of Salix, Iowa, Jeff Kimble of Sloan and Peggy Marshall of Lincoln, Neb.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Pat Wheeler of Arizona; a brother and his wife, David and Ruth Brenden of Sloan; and special friends, the Bromander family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Francis "Bud" Marshall.
