UTE, Iowa -- Rachel E. Naab, 69, of Roseville, Calif., formerly of Ute, died Sunday, July 2, 2006, at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Roseville.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ute, with the Rev. Ed Brandt officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Sunday, with the prayer service at 6 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home in Ute.

Rachel Evelyn Naab was born March 29, 1937, in Ute, to Chris and Helen (Bates) Gregerson. She graduated from Ute High School, where she was a member of the band and basketball team.

She married the love of her life, Sherman Naab on Dec. 12, 1955. They moved to Northglen, Colo., where they celebrated the birth of their two children, son Randy in 1959 and daughter, Sheila in 1964. She worked at Stanley Aviation.

In 1966, the family moved to Canoga Park, Calif. She was an active member of Canoga Park Lutheran Church, where she volunteered with the braille group and for numerous activities with her children's schools. She moved to Roseville in 1995, to be near her children and grandchildren. She worked at Tax Deferred Services until her passing.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include her son, Randy Naab of Roseville, Calif.; a daughter, Sheila Naab of Folsom, Calif.; two grandsons, Jeremy and Jordan Naab of Roseville; two brothers and their wives, Francis and Jean Gregerson of Longmont, Colo., and Robert and Sara Gregerson of Lincoln, Neb.; a sister and her husband, Marcia and Ed Estey of Des Moines; two sisters-in-law, Kay Gregerson of Ute and Sharon Smith of Alliance, Neb.; numerous nieces and nephews; and a vast number of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Chris Gregerson; her husband, Sherman Naab; a brother, Jim Gregerson; a brother-in-law, Sheldon Naab; and her parents-in-law, Ervin and Beatrice Naab.
