ONAWA, Iowa -- Bonnie Jones, 80, of Onawa passed away Sunday, March 27, 2005, at her residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa with the Rev. Dennis Olsen officiating. Burial will be at Whiting (Iowa) City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Bonnie was born July 19, 1924, at Whiting, the daughter of Chris and Rose (Gibbs) Sierks. She was raised in Whiting and graduated from Whiting High School in 1943.

She married Leo Anderson on June 28, 1943. To this union two children were born, Linda Mae English and Larry Leo Anderson. Leo passed away January 1976. She married Arthur Jones of Longmont, Colo., on May 24, 1980.

She farmed for 55 years and worked at the Onawa Public Library, Dunham's Clothing Store and Burgess Memorial Hospital. She was always helping someone in trouble and never thought about herself in time of others' needs.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Onawa, volunteered for various projects and enjoyed nature and working with her flowers. The highlight of her life was to be with her grandchildren and her most precious great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur of Onawa; a daughter and her husband, Linda and Ben English of Onawa; a son and his wife, Larry and Chris Anderson of Onawa; grandchildren, Tim English and his two children, Dylan and Josie, all of Onawa, Tami (Jim) Rutar and their children, Courtney, Austin and Spencer, all of Pender, Neb., Toby English and his children, Laney, Miranda and Logan, and fiance Jill Cramer and her son, Kade Carney, all of South Sioux City, and Kevin Anderson and Karen Anderson, both of Omaha, Neb.; and three step-children, Frank (Kathy) Jones and Ralph (Jackie) Jones, all of Pueblo, Colo., and Donna Horvat of Longmont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; her parents; and many aunts and uncles.
