Keith E. Heisterkamp, 58, of Onawa, Iowa died Sunday, December 23, 2018 at his residence.

A visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa with a Funeral Mass at 7:00 P.M. to follow at St. John Catholic Church in Onawa, Iowa with Father Michael Erpelding- Celebrant, officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Keith Edward Heisterkamp was born in the Onawa Hospital on November 21, 1960 in Onawa, Iowa the son of Delbert J. and E. “Yvonne” (Ryan) Heisterkamp.

He attended West Monona Community School and graduated in 1979.

Keith worked at the family John Deere dealerships, Heisterkamp Equipment (a.k.a. Heisterkamp, Ltd.) in Onawa and Heisterkamp Implement in Sioux City for over 28 yrs as truck driver, parts sales, and power equipment sales. Later, he worked as a shag driver for Tyson Foods in Dakota City, NE, parts sales at Icon Equipment (Deere dealership) in Lawton, IA, and sales at Petro Mart in Onawa.

He enjoyed working in his shop, gardening, and collector toys. He also enjoyed visiting with his customers and friends and would do anything that he could to help someone in need. He was also very fond of his dog, Zoe. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he loved very much.

Survivors include his long-time companion, Regina Simmons of Onawa, Iowa and her children, Brandi (Cesar) Velasco of Onawa, Iowa and Gabe Simmons of Rochester, Minnesota; granddaughters, Mia and Nadia Velasco of Onawa, Iowa; his siblings, Greg (Jane) Heisterkamp of Sloan, IA, David Heisterkamp of Omaha, NE, Debra (Kevin) Smith of Sioux City, IA, Kevin (Doreen) Heisterkamp of Early, IA, and Mark Heisterkamp of Omaha, NE; many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Yvonne Heisterkamp; and several other family members.
