Mamie Belle Shea, formerly of Rodney, died at Onawa Wednesday, October 30,1991 in Elmwood Nursing Home where she had been residing the past five years. Death came at the age of 100 years, 1 month and 14 days.

She was born at Rodney on September 16, 1891, the daughter of Gilbert and Nina Belle (Goo) Browning. She married Charles A. Shea May 15, 1926 at Waco, TX. He died at Onawa on January 14, 1983.

Mamie was affiliated with the United Church of Christ at Rodney.

She is survived by a nephew, Waldo Lundeen and his wife, Freda, of Onawa, two nieces, Franza Champion and Mrs. Claude (June) Arby McAlpine, and three half-nieces, Mrs. Abe (Catherine) Ferns of Sioux City, and Lavonne Craig and Thelma Williams of Yucca Valley, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, a half-brother, a sister, and three infants.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 A. M. Saturday, November 2, 1991, at the Willman Funeral Chapel, Rodney with Rev Karen Dearchs officiating. The organist was Mrs. Ellen Harbeck.

Casket bearers were Orlo Johnson, Claire Hewitt, Oscar Hanson, Max Smith, Dwain Schmidt and Dale Knoff.

Interment was in Little Sioux Township Cemetery at Smithland, with arrangements by William Funeral Home, Rodney.
